We believe we should unite collectively to share the common interest of health care in the African American Community. We envision ourselves as leaders and welcome each and every one of you to assist us in the delivery of culturally competent health services and health provider programs in the 21st Century. We also seek to improve the recruitment, retention, career planning and job mobility of black nurses.

    MISSION

The Columbus Chapter of  National Black Nurses Association is a professional organization of registered nurses, licensed practical/vocational nurses and nursing students The Columbus Black Nurses Association, (CBNA) a local chapter of the National Black Nurses Association, Inc., is a non- profit professional organization of registered nurses, licensed practical / vocational nurses, and nursing students who contribute to improving the quality of life of persons who share the African American heritage and other ethnic groups by:
  • Investigating, defining and advocating for their health care needs
  • Educating and mentoring registered nurses, licensed practical/vocational nurses and nursing students, high school and future nursing students
  • Promoting economic development of nurses through entrepreneurial and other business initiatives
  • Building consumer knowledge and understanding of health care issues
  • Implementing strategies that ensure access to health care equal to or above health care standards of the larger united States society
  • Facilitating the professional development and career advancement of nurses in the emerging health care systems
